Finally got my introspection work on compiz’s dbus plugin to a point I consider done. Any other changes require API changes as well. Now to wait and see if the patch gets accepted. Might take some time, it’s pretty big…

I’m really starting to get the hang of this plugin porting stuff. I’ve got ports of the awesome wall and snap plugins from beryl available for compiz git. I started out with a straight port, pulling things from beryl-core into the plugin where possible to make things work. I’ve now started actually changing the plugins to avoid this. This is all great practice for writing a replacement dbus plugin.

On that note, does anyone know of a program that provides a dbus interface and doesn’t use the glib or Qt bindings? I need one that uses the straight C API.

Woo, finally figured out how this thing works.

Where you’ll find me:

• IRC operator in the Ubuntu channels
• working on compiz, mostly working on the dbus plugin and a configuration GUI that uses it
• working on alacarte in GNOME
• porting interesting beryl plugins to compiz
• eventually getting back to work on WillowNG, a content filtering web proxy that uses bayesian classification (yay buzzwords)
• maybe getting into MOTU work?

Anyway, hopefully being on the planet will make me blog more often.
